The Borrowed Soul

Life begins with a sun to rise,
And many wonders await newborn eyes.
As time goes on, memories are made,
One at a time, and some soon fade.
The important ones remain in our heart,
Through seasons of change, those do not part.
Loved ones we cherish may too soon leave this earth,
Before we can tell them of their true life’s worth.
Sometimes they mean more than words can say,
Wishing with all our hearts that they could stay.
When they are gone, many memories they leave,
We hold them and find comfort as we sorely grieve.
Tears fill our eyes, our souls filled with sorrow.
Thank You God, for the soul you allowed us to borrow.
