So Glad You're Here! I'm Bonnie . . .
I live in a place so far out in the wilds of Southern New Jersey that I don’t even get mail delivery from the post office—and good luck with cell service. I’m close to the bay and love the sound of gentle sloshing waves rolling to shore and the blaze of color in the amazing sunsets.
Just don’t go there during green-head season!
As a child, I loved walking the trails behind my house that crossed over a bubbling stream and led to a pond with a small island in the middle. When the pond froze, Dad checked to make sure it was safe enough to walk on. I loved to put my face against the ice and look at the plant life below the frozen water.
The playground just down the street from my house is no longer there. It had it season and day in the sun. And in that day, I loved to swing high on those rubber seats hanging by thick chains on a trapeze pole and touch the sky. My sisters and I teetered and tottered on the seesaw and climbed the giant slide for a swift swish down, just to climb back up and do it all over again.
In growing up, life was a lot like the playground with its ups and downs, bumps and bruises along the way. I believe that life’s experiences make you the person you are. And although it has been a rough and bumpy ride, I wouldn’t change a thing about my life story. It’s given me so much to write about. Something else I spent a lot of years doing, filling pages with ink, recording all my ups and downs, bumps and bruises along the way.
Like my little-girl-face pressed up against the frozen pond, I look into worlds of wonder buried deep within the human heart. Here on my blog, Word Wit Poems, Stories, and Insights, I will share some of my writing world, poured out from the reservoir of journals, files, and scraps of paper. In witty words of wisdom. Connecting to the commonplaces of our lives.
Thanks for stopping by today. Come again. Come often. I’ll be posting regularly and praying that my readers receive into their hearts, from the generous hand of God, even a morsel of what He has so bountifully poured into my heart.
I’m happy to be me today. Hope you’re happy to be you! I’m looking forward to a better future. Let’s believe together—the best is yet to come!
