The Beat

Thump..thump…thump..thump...thump..thump
it goes on and on pushing cells both red and white
through tunnels going up, down, over, and across
reaching every part of the human body.
As the liquid of life flows along,
it picks up tired and weary cells.
The flow washes away dead and used up cells
that would turn toxic
poisoning human tissue.
It replaces them with upbeat new cells full of energy.
Thump..thump…thump..thump…thump..thump
it continues doing its job never complaining,
and maybe every so often
only miss a beat or two
before it gets back
to the rhythm of life.
