Compassion Helps to Understand

A broken heart who can bear?

Who can mend and show they care?

Compassion helps to understand,

Just what has crushed the heart of man.

A gentle hand with a gentle touch,

Can help to soothe; can help so much.

A gentle tongue with a gentle word,

Can help to heal, when it is heard.

One who’s been crushed can comprehend,

And is better suited to help mend.
